Before the procedure

Shave the area 12–24 hours before your visit.
For 4 weeks no waxing, sugaring, epilator or tweezers: the laser needs the hair in the follicle.
For 2 weeks before the procedure avoid sunbathing, tanning beds and self-tanner.
On the day — no deodorant or cream on the area.

After the procedure

Apply SPF 50 every day for 2 weeks — even on cloudy days.
For 2–3 days no sauna, steam room, swimming pool or very hot showers.
Between sessions use only a razor — no wax or tweezers.
Hairs working their way out can be gently exfoliated after 10–14 days.

Contraindications

In addition to the general contraindications:

A fresh tan on the treatment area
Medication that increases photosensitivity (including isotretinoin — for 6 months after the course)
Active cold sores or inflammation on the treatment area
Tattoos on the area — they are worked around

Frequently asked questions

Can I shave between sessions?

Yes, a razor is the only allowed method. Wax, sugaring and tweezers pull the hair out, leaving the laser nothing to work with.

Why is a course needed?

The laser works on hair in the active growth phase, which is only part of the hair at any moment. So sessions are repeated until all of it is reached.
